Internet Marketing Basics

I took a well-earned week away from the whole internet marketing scene this week. Caught up on sleep, housework and packing and basically just chilled out. Then I woke up this morning because I was actually DREAMING about internet marketing and all the things I had to do... LOL

After getting the kids up and sorted, I set to work. First I checked my emails and found that a few of my articles have been picked up again, which is always a great ego-boost. I've had another domain and idea lying around for about 6 months. A week or so ago I finally got hosting for it and got Rich (my programmer) to start working on it. I just checked it now and it's coming along pretty good. I won't give you the link just yet though as it's not finished yet, but stay tuned and I'll let you know when you can have a look ;~)

Have you ever wanted to learn about graphics, or do you need someone to create graphics for you? If so, then I would highly recommend Gene Barry of http://www.graphics4marketers.com

He does great graphics at very reasonable prices. I know he's hosting weekly graphics chats in his conference room, starting today, Sunday 4th April at 2pm EST. He will be showing a video or 2 on graphics design in Photoshop. They will be in html format so you can capture the url and bookmark it for later viewing ( cool huh! ).

The plan for Genes chats is for everyone to meet others in the graphics community and visit and show off their talent. So I would hazard a guess that people like me who know nothing about graphics might actually get to learn something.

As some people may have noticed, I've been really floundering with this blog. It started out as an experiment and I wasn't sure which way to take it, or even if I was going to carry on with it. There's been more than a few times that I thought about just dumping the whole thing and concentrating my efforts on my ezine and ebooks.

That all changed thanks to some great people that I met in the Hot Conference rooms (they really are great rooms, grab a copy of mine and I'll demo how they work http://annamarketing.com/room.php), and my plans are now to start using the blog more for marketing purposes, but I will still try to keep it personal.

I met and chatted with Paul Short of http://www.GetBlogs.com and he directed me to a great free report that he's done, called The Bloggers Edge, with tons of fantastic info for using a blog as a marketing tool. I've been renting a house that was deemed unfit for human habitation 16 months ago, landlord refused to do anything with it, live wires hanging outta walls, broken windows and doors, leaky ceiling in living room etc etc etc

Been on the waiting list for a rental property for just about 2 years, as nothing ever becomes available here, and then today I got word that they finally had a house for me!! Wonder of wonders!

I got a house!!!! I am so happy, so excited I haven't had the keys yet, but my new next door neighbour invited me in to look around her house, as the houses are pretty much the same. Nice and compact, safe and warm, and in a lovely, quiet part of town.The garden is HUGE, so plenty work for the kids during summer... hehehe

They're as excited as I am, and when they see the garden they're going to feel like they're in heaven.

Anyway, I should be able to move in within the next month, possibly even within the next 2 weeks or so, I'll find out tomorrow. Gonna be a lot of work with packing 4 kids worth of stuff, but it's going to be great.

All in all this means that my ebook goal is even MORE important than it was when I made it yesterday, so any help, tips and info are greatly appreciated. http://www.annamarketing.com/FTH/index.php

Ok, here goes, my first ever "public" goal:

I have created Forget The Hype, my 74 page ebook aimed at newbie internet marketers, and I want to sell 100 copies of it by the 31st June 2005. I've sold 4 copies so far. http://www.annamarketing.com/FTH/index.php

The book is really good, even if i say so myself, full of great hints, tips, info, resources and links for anybody venturing into the world of online marketing.

I'm posting my goal here so that lots of people will see it which will make it more "real" for me. After all, if lots of you see it, it means I really have to do it.
